WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State and New Mexico State have verbally agreed to a Monday, Feb. 15 makeup date for their postponed men’s basketball game. Tip is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.
WSU and NMSU were originally slated to meet on Dec. 28, but winter weather canceled the Aggies’ flight into Wichita and hindered subsequent efforts to book a replacement flight.
With the NMSU unable to reach Wichita, the teams agreed to postpone the game indefinitely while searching for an ideal makeup date.
Both schools have five-day gaps in between games on Feb. 13 and Feb. 18.
WSU will be in the midst of a homestand that includes dates against Northern Iowa (Feb. 13) and Missouri State (Feb. 18), while NMSU is slated to play at Chicago State on the Feb. 13. Afterward, the Aggies will detour through Wichita to face the Shockers, then return to Las Cruces to meet CSU-Bakersfield on Feb. 18.
The game will televised locally on Cox Channel Kansas with streaming available to those outside Kansas and the Kansas City metro area on ESPN3.
Tickets to the original Dec. 28 game will be honored at the gate. For questions, contact the Shocker Ticket Office at (316) 978-FANS.
NMSU is 11-8 (3-1 in WAC play) heading into the week. WSU is 12-5 (6-0 Missouri Valley Conference).
