Andover golfers take second at state

ANDOVER — High School golfers across the state tee’d up Monday to participate in Kansas State High School Athletics Association State golf tournament. The Trojan golf team finished at the top of the pace with a second place behind St. Thomas Aquinas. As a team Andover finished the tournament at Salina with a 302, just one point behind the leader.

For Andover, one stood above the rest. Zach Sokolosky took home individual gold after completing the tournament with a 67 score. He ended the day at Salina Municipal Golf Course three under par for first place.

Teammate Chase Oberg tied for 19 with a score of 76. Patrick Chan placed 34 with a score of 79, and Syed-Hanif Ashraf placed 40 after shooting an 80. Jacob Wilson placed 44 with a 81 on the day and Drake Sawyer placed 53rd with an 83.
