ANDOVER – Members of the Andover Chamber of Commerce who would like to take their involvement to the next level are urged to consider being on the organization’s board of directors. In their weekly newsletter, Chamber President/CEO Becky Wolfe told her membership that the group is ahead of schedule when it comes to starting the process of filling next year’s open positions.
“Every year, the Andover Area Chamber of Commerce seeks board of directors from our membership. The Board is working on the process a little earlier this year and it is their hope that any member investor in good standing will consider being a part of this growing Chamber.” Wolfe said.
The functions of the Board of Directors are:
- To set policy for the organization and staff
- To evaluate current President-CEO, hire and/or fire that position
- Represent the Chamber at meetings, functions and other activities presented to you by the President-CEO as a Director of the Board
- Select and elect executive officers for the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, which holds a meeting prior to the regularly scheduled board meetings.
“This year, there are 5 positions coming open.” Wolfe explained. “A nominating committee will contact each person who submits a “Board Interest Form.” The membership will then place their votes for the 5 members to serve in October.”
Chamber members currently serving on the Board of Directors include:
Brandy Mitchell – Capitol Federal
Board Vice Chair
Jacob Burrow – Meritrust
Sherame Kneisel – USD 385
Kathy Walter – Flinthills Services
Travis Griffin – Butler Electric Cooperative
