WICHITA — Kapaun moves to 2-0 and Andover 1-1 after falling 21-0.
The Crusaders took first blood with 5:20 left in the first quarter for a 7–0 advantage on the grass at Cessna Stadium at Wichita State University. The Trojans had a tough time the entire evening getting anything going against a strong Kapaun defense despite multiple chances off Kapaun fumbles. Both teams juggled the ball back and fourth, but neither were able to get back into the end zone in the first half.
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Crusaders found the end zone again. This time on a quarterback keeper by Jack Hacking. The kick was good for a 14-0 score.
After a turnover on downs by the Trojans, Kapaun scored again with 5:36 in the fourth quarter. The kick was good for 21-0 lead and to win the game.
