Lady T-Birds split against McPherson, Winfield

TOWANDA — Circle volleyball team split against McPherson and Winfield Tuesday night to go 7-4 on their season.

At the home triangular the Lady T-Birds started their evening off strong with a 25-19 win against the 4A powerhouse. However, the Bullpups came roaring back taking the next two sets. They defeated the T-Birds in a close 27-25 game and then in a 25-19 tie breaker to take the match.

Next up was McPherson vs Winfield. It didn’t take long for the Bullpups to defeat the Vikings in two sets 25-20 and 25-12. The Bullpups ended the night undefeated with a 10-2 record on the season.

In the final match of the night, Circle took on the Vikings. It was an easy end to the evening as Circle defeated Winfield soundly 25-11 and 25-7. The Lady T-Birds finished 1-1 for second place in the triangular.

During the evening’s play Camron Perry had 11 kills and 5 aces. Jessie Nibarger had 10 kills and 22 assists. Brennan Patty had 31 digs and Shelby Reeder finished the evening with 10 kills, 6 aces and 18 assists.

Next up for the T-Birds is a trip to Wellington on Sept. 19. There they will play both Wellington and Clearwater. On Sept. 23 they travel to Wamego for a tournament.
