Michael Call

CALL, MICHAEL, 62, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1954 in Wichita, KS to Frank Dean and Clara Elizabeth “Gillenwaters” Call. Michael and his friends had a garage band in high school called “Chemical Compound.” Michael earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from WSU. He worked at many sales and customer service jobs as well as an Electronics Installer at Cessna and his favorite as a Purchasing Agent for his alma mater WSU. Michael enjoyed Amtrak travel, photography and was a very proud Eagle Scout, even helping when the Boy Scout Cabin was built at Andover United Methodist Church. He loved people and being able to help them. He was sensitive and sentimental and enjoyed the simple life; hunting, fishing and camping with his friends. Michael is remembered as a bit of a jokester who was always smiling and as a dedicated, loyal, great friend and listener. He moved to Andover to be with his parents and took great care of his ailing mother in her final years. Michael loved Andover after he moved here and didn’t want to leave even when he himself became ill.

Michael is survived by his brother Glen Call and his wife Becky; a niece that he adored Hillary; his beloved Sheltie Dog Toby; special caregiver and friend Jennifer Bookout; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Clara.
