Police Department reveals new K-9 officer name

 


 

ANDOVER – The Andover Police Department has announced that the new K-9 police officer purchased last week will go by the name “Bandit”. The dog which was purchased last week and brought back to the city from it’s breeding facility in Indiana.

“Bandit and his handler, Officer Joel McLaughlin will begin training on September 18, 2017 with the Wichita Police Department and Sedgwick County Sheriff’s K-9 Training Program.” the Department said via social media on Monday. “We wish them the best of luck as they begin their partnership.”

In a related story, K-9 officer Hondo will be the honoree at a retirement party scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The event is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Andover Police Department training room.
