ANDOVER – A home crowd’s support wasn’t enough to propel Andover Central to a victory at District Stadium on Friday, as the Pittsburg Purple Dragons left Butler County with a 12-7 win.
Led by backup quarterback Ty Roark, the Dragons got their first touchdown when the field general connected with running back Ty Cicero for a three yard run into the endzone, in the final minute of the first quarter.
Cicero would be responsible for another three yard touchdown that would put Pittsburg up 12-0. The Jaguars were able to block the PAT.
Andover Central would score their lone touchdown of the ballgame late in the fourth quarter, when Reagan Jones marched seven yards into the endzone, with Clark Schoonover booting the extra point.
The Jaguars fall to 1-4 on the season. They’ll take on a winless Circle team in Towanda next Friday night.
