ROSE HILL — El Dorado traveled to the home of the Rockets Friday. Coming close to victory, but falling just short 21-14.
It wasn’t until the second quarter that either team was able to put points on the board. El Dorado struck first on a touchdown pass from Cody Wittenberg to Hunter Armijo. The kick was good for a 7-0 Wildcat lead with 1:45 left in the second quarter.
On the next drive, Rose Hill scored next with a 58-yard touchdown pass with 1:26 left in the second quarter.
Both teams again put their defenses to work coming out of halftime to have a scoreless third quarter. Not long into the fourth, another long pass by the Rockets led to a touchdown. The kick was good for a 14-7 lead.
El Dorado was able to tie the game 14-14 with 2:29 left in the game on a 1-yard run. The kick was good.
Rose Hill retaliated on the next play for a 68-yard run to take a 21-14 lead. That’s where the score stayed for a narrow Rocket victory.
