ANDOVER – The Andover School District has two educators that could potentially be named Teacher of the Year at a regional banquet this weekend.
“Good luck to our Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees Meghan Chapman and Heather Hawkins as they attend the Regional Banquet this weekend where the regional finalist will be announced.” the District said via their website.
According to the Central Office, this honor is one of the biggest.
“The Kansas Teacher of the Year Award recognizes and utilizes representatives of excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms of the state. Its mission is to build and utilize a network of exemplary teachers who are leaders in the improvement of schools, student performance and the teaching profession. Meghan is a 3rd-grade teacher at Robert Martin Elementary and Heather is a media specialist at Andover Central Middle School. Good luck to both teachers!”
