James Horn, 68, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
He was born September 23, 1949, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Homer and Evelyn (Hamblin) Horn. James was united in marriage to Maria Elizabeth Crabb on August 16, 1969 in Stafford, Kansas. James worked as an art professor for Chase and Raymond School Districts and later worked as an engineer for Cessna in Hutchinson, Boeing and retired from Spirit. He enjoyed working on the farm, working with his chickens, playing cards and being outdoors. James loved his family, he was a soft spoken but always impactful, God fearing man.
He is survived by his wife, Maria “Liz” of Rose Hill; children Michelle and husband Jeffery Kitchen of South Carolina, Joshua Horn of Kansas City, Jeremiah and wife Aleesha Horn of Derby, Jacob and wife Jessica Horn of Andover, Annette Horn of Shawnee; siblings Marilyn and husband Don Klausmeyer of Clearwater, Shirley Schroth of Topeka, John and wife Jane Horn of Kansas City, Jodi Slief of Pratt; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Horn.
Visitation will be Friday, October 13th from 5-7 at the Dunsford Funeral Home in Augusta. Funeral services will take place Saturday, October 14th, at 10 am at the First United Pentecostal Church, 1755 E MacArthur Rd, Wichita, KS 67216. Interment will follow at the family cemetery.
