The Sunshine Children’s Home is recovering from some bad luck over the holiday and is in need of the public’s help to get them and their clients headed in the right direction.
They sent the following message to donors and friends on social media Tuesday:
“Much to our dismay, the basement at Sunshine Children’s Home flooded over the Thanksgiving holiday. With the help of several local plumbers, electricians, and restoration professionals, we were able to minimize the affected areas, but the damage was substantial. In addition to flooring and some toys, the water destroyed some of our much needed supplies. As the holidays approach, this of particular concern for all of us here at SCARF.
We know many of our friends choose this time of year to give generously to the Children’s Home. While we address the aftermath of our flood, we ask you to please consider assisting us with meeting some of the basic needs of our home, especially:
infant formula- similac and enfamil
sleep sacks for infants (larger sizes)
velcro swaddles for infants
new sweatpants – all sizes
new t-shirts- all sizes
If you are able to assist with any of these items, please contact Sunshine Children’s Home at 316-733-6700”
