A Man, 26, Found Dead In River, Four Charged For Murder

A man nearly the age of 28 years old named Lee McKnight who belongs from Carlisle, was found in the River Caldew dead at around 5:24 a.m in the early hours of Friday morning.

Cumbria Police said that the man named Lee Mcknight had suffered a ‘violent assault’ before his death.

Cumbria Police said four people have been arrested on the suspicion of the murder and now have been charged with murder.

The police made the identities of the suspects publish as Jamie Davidson who is 25 years old, Carol Edgar who is 46 years old, Coral Edgar who is 25 years old, and Paul Roberts who is 50 years old, and they have all been charged with murder.

Janice Edgar who is 40 years old, from Carlisle, has also been charged with an offender and possession of drugs with intent to supply charges. They all are expected to appear in the court on Wednesday.

A woman who is 47 years old who belongs from Carlisle, has been released on bail. Police have urged the local public for information on Lee’s death in the early hours on the 24th of July. The investigating team is also searching for a black Nissan Navara that is said to be involved in the murder and any suspicious activity around the Wreay area.
