A traffic stop by cops reveals the death of a man

The sheriff’s office said about the arrest of four men after the police found a body of a man in the storage compartment (trunk) of their vehicle during a traffic stop in Halifax County. The incident began when Roanoke Rapids Officer C. Roberts pulled over a vehicle for speeding around 1 a.m., the Halifax. 

During the stop, Roberts found the body of a man in the vehicle’s trunk. The sheriff’s office said the man found on the trunk had been shot to death. The shooting casualty (deceased) was identified to be  as Trevon Quantavius Fields, 23, of Roanoke Rapids. Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Bobby Martin said that although he had made many traffic stops and checkpoints, he has never in his vocation stumbled into something like this. He needed to gather himself briefly because it’s not something that, as a 25-year veteran. he has caught wind of there. 

Halifax County criminologists with help from Roanoke Rapids police, found out the Fields that had likely been shot outside the city limits. The examination at traffic stop prompted the capture of the four men in the vehicle with Fields’ body. The suspects currently in custody were identified as Ralik Robinson, 22, Trevathann Myquan Shearin, 20, Shantron Avondre Person, 20 all of Roanoke Rapids, and Deluntae Jaequon Squire, 23 of Halifax. They were later detained and arrested and each one of them is now accused of homicide. 

They are as of now held in the Halifax County Detention Center and are planned to show up in court on Jan. 20. Martin said that it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which he didn’t make that traffic stop where might they have been, they had had a family that has no clue about where their cherished one was.
