A heroic incident has been reported from Florida where a 33-year-old Mississippi deputy sacrificed his own life in order to save the life of his 10-year-old son. The name of this hero is William Nichols. He was with his family at Fort Walton beach.
They were enjoying their time on the beach. That’s when suddenly their son was caught in a Riptide and was dragged into the Ocean. However, William spared no time in jumping into the water in order to save the life of his son.
Thankfully, he was able to put his son back onshore. However, unfortunately, he himself was caught in the Riptide and dragged into the ocean. He didn’t show up at a reasonable time. So, a search operation was started in order to look for him.
Finally, his body was retrieved from the ocean. It was taken to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead by the medical personnel present at the hospital. It was indeed a heroic act and he is receiving much applause for his courage and determination.
In a Facebook tribute, his department wrote a long post. It read as
“Please keep the Nichols family in your prayers during this difficult time, and thank the Lord for men like Director Nichols who have given their lives so that others may live,” the tribute continued.
“We are grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and hard work of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Walton County Fire Rescue during this challenging time for the Nichols family and the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department family.” For more such latest news stay tuned with us.
