California has now headed into the fourth of July weekend, experiencing the classic sunny summer skies but has kept many of its popular beaches off-limits. Additionally, new health orders have also been received, according to which, fireworks have been canceled temporarily in order to do the best to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections.

The normal Independence day throngs from the long expanse of the sparkling sand were missing, however, a few surfers were seen in the water off Venice Beach, Los Angeles’ famed beach, and also a few dozen people were seen strolling the shoreline or Broadwalk.

Owing to the dramatic reversal of California’s early success against the deadly and surging Covid-19 disease, Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer did warn the citizens this week stating that the July Fourth celebration would be a different one and that all of us would experience a different summer this time.

However, many surfers were seen catching the morning swells at Malibu’s Surfrider Beach to keep it a normal summer, despite the ban.

In the wake of this incident, the city spokesman Matt Myerhoff said that the sheriffs cannot be everywhere all the time and that realistically, there will be people who would want to break the guidelines of public sense, the law, the recommendations of the trusted public health officials, and most importantly, common decency.

Earlier, Gov. Gavin Newsom took strict measures of limiting or rolling back the reopening of businesses in the county owing to the rising rate of positivity in the number of new Covid-19 cases and due to the increasing hospitalizations in Los Angeles.

Thus, the indoor entertainment venues, indoor restaurant dining, and other recently opened bars saw their businesses being closed down again for at least three weeks. Additionally, measures were also taken to avoid drawing crowds, due to which traditional fireworks were canceled as it could possibly lead to a massive Covid-19 transmission if not taken care of.
