Chicago weekend shootings leaves 9 dead and 25 wounded including boy who was unintended target

According to the Chicago police, nine people have died and at least 25 others are wounded in shootings this weekend across the city.

The police added two men were killed in the 2300 block of South Kolin Avenue on Early Sunday morning at approximately 6 a.m. Both men have severe gunshots wounds on their head and we’re sitting in their vehicle. Though, there are no suspects in the custody right now.

A 38-year-old man was shot on Sunday when he was standing on a sidewalk in the 6400 blocks of South Green at approximately 12:40 p.m. A person in a light-colored vehicle opened fire striking him back in his head. The police said that there are no suspects in the custody yet and Area One detectives are investigating.

The first incident of the fatal shooting took place in the 900 blocks of North Cambridge on Friday at approximately 6:45 p.m. A 9-year-old boy was shot by an unknown attacker. One of the bullets struck in the boy’s chest and he was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital where he was found dead. 

On Saturday, just after 12:30 a.m., a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the head and chest when he was inside a residence in the 200 blocks of East 55th Place. He was pronounced dead too.

And, shockingly just six minutes after this incident at least 5 individuals were shot in a backyard party in the 100 blocks of North Laporte. A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead when taken to West Suburban Hospital. 

Four other victims, an 18-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old woman, were all taken to hospital and are in good condition.

Another fatal shooting was reported in the city around 2:42 a.m. and police discovered a woman lying on a porch in the 4500 blocks of West End. She was pronounced dead too.
