There is plenty of excitement seen in the fans for the upcoming chapters for the Scream franchise.
Though the presence of Wes Craven is already been missed by the fans and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett have emerged from the release of 2019’s Ready Or Not as two of the industry’s iconic and exciting genre filmmakers.
Talking about the Scream franchise, it’s quite hard to wonder and conclude about “what’s might be happening in the next for Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Courtney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and David Arquette’s Dewey Riley. But do you know about what is in particular not exciting to hear? The new title that’s been slapped on the project. Here is what you should know about it.
The franchise is unto wraps its production this week, however, if we see, the upcoming chapter for the series should be called Scream 5, but the studio has officially confirmed that the sequel film won’t be ‘Titled As Scream 5’ instead it will be titled as ‘Scream’ a.k.a the same name which was given to the first chapter of the franchise which was aired back in 1996.
This type of title has been applied in the past legacy horrors as well, specifically, it was with Matthijs Van Heijningen Jr’s The Thing series and David Gordon Green’s Halloween as well.
The reason why the Scream franchise is going with such a “title change” to be précised is a bad decision as it will have a side effect of totally misrepresenting what the movies actually are. Though, if the film is going to apply the same title as on the old film, the probability this movie either be ‘Remake or rebooted version’ but the only part is that this news isn’t confirmed yet. So, it’s better to wait and see to things getting confirmed!
The new Scream will be ready to watch on screens in 2022, so we can hope for some more updates and confirmations about the movie to drop-in. Continue to stick to our site to get further updates in the future.
