The groundbreaking story of the Dracula by Bram Stoker, written way back in 1897 is making its leaves murmur even in 2020 when the Sherlock Holmes creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat worked on it. Showcased in BBC One as a New Year gift for three consecutive days on January 01, 2020, and on Netflix with 3 consecutive episodes. In spite of its huge success, the show did not continue with episodes.
The Danish actor Claes Bang plays the role of the villainous Count Dracula, with conviction and ease, stepping into the shoes of famous on-screen bloodsuckers like Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee and Gary Oldman. The show ran into a huge success with 6.8 points out of 10 in IMDb. The sensation has mobilized the production company Hartswood films to produce the second part of the series. While the spectators are eagerly waiting for the next episode, cast and storyline, let’s plunge into the same.
Dracula Season 2 Release Date News and Cast Announcement
There has been no official announcement so far. The production company has not released any date so far about the launch of the second season. The reason being the ongoing endemic COVID-19. Across the world, all the shows and the functioning of the production companies have been affected, due to the outbreak of the killer Coronavirus.
The series creator, Mark Gatiss, has left us with a clue of the Dracula hitting the screens any day in 2021. While talking to Radio Times, he hinted, “It’s very hard to kill a vampire.” He continued saying, “Do you know what I mean?”. And then came the show stopper, “What they do is resurrect.” Steven Moffat, the co-creator, liked to add on. While asked about the possibilities of future episodes, he said, “That would be to give away how it ends, wouldn’t it?”. For us what he said meant, “So you’ll have to wait and see.”Cast
Claes Bang has to be the Count Dracula himself – for the image that he has portrayed has been drawn the ratings to that high. If at all the series returns, Bang should be the first one to be named as he has settled himself to be the sex symbol on the BBC.
Then again comes the rest of the cast, John Heffernan (Luther) as Dracula’s victim Jonathan Harker and Dolly Wells (Doll & Em, Blunt Talk) as Sister Agatha Van Helsing. Though these characters died and making way for their return should be a grand one. As when it comes to the supernatural, you can never assume.
The final curtain that drew over the third episode Dracula felt quite complete. But here’s how Gatiss spiced it up, “Apparently if you pour blood onto Dracula’s ashes he comes back. Who knows? Dracula tends to come back, that’s what vampires do – but we have no idea if the show will return.”
Till then, keep following. We will be the first one to announce the launch.
