New York City was severely hit by the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, people were wary of using public transport because it would expose them to the coronavirus. So, a new company named Revels came to New York City.
It was a moped Sharing service that protected people from being exposed to coronavirus in public transport. And it became an instant success. New Yorkers started using this mode of transport more and more.
But, just in a matter of 7 months, 330 crashes happened to compelled the company to pull back its operations. However, the company has said that it will return with more safety protocols such as mandatory helmets, security questions, and instructional videos.
“The City will closely monitor Revel’s operations during this relaunch and, going forward, plans to work with all interested stakeholders to promulgate rules to govern the operation of shared moped services in New York City,” Trottenberg said. For more such latest news stay tuned with us.
