In the framework of the launch of the documentary about the successful sequel, the scriptwriter of the saga talks about the discussions around Frozen 3.
The Frozen franchise has turned out to be one of the most successful for Disney. And although with the premiere of its sequel last year there were those who were waiting for a third installment, everything indicates that this will not happen soon, because now it is known that there have not even been talks regarding Frozen 3.
Chatting with Collider to promote the upcoming Disney + Into the Unknown: Making Frozen II docuseries, screenwriter and animator Marc Smith revealed that the Mouse House has no plans yet to begin developing later adventures of Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and company. This was what he said:
“We have not had that discussion. I think Frozen 2 is still very present in everyone’s minds to think about what happens next,
“says the writer of Frozen II.
It should be noted that there was a six-year gap between each installment, which is why Walt Disney Animation would not be looking to make another tape just for the sake of it.
In fact, recently, Josh Gad, who lends his voice to Olaf, mentioned that the second film only materialized because there was a story good enough to be told and that a third of the saga was a possibility, but that nothing was certain.
“That’s the thing. Frozen 2 didn’t happen until there was a reason for it to exist. In the same way, I don’t know when – and if ever – Frozen 3 will be released. But we’ll see!
If there is a story to tell, I’m sure Jennifer Lee
[Chris Buck] and the amazing Disney team will one day tell it. “
