Fans can finally express their clenched joy, because His Dark Materials is back with the second season! Amir Wilson and Dafne Keen are yet again ready to dazzle their fans with their new adventures into multiple dimensions of reality, meeting with several new and old faces along the way. Jane Tranter, who happens to be the executive producer, claimed, “In season one, we had a witch.
In season two, we had witches, and we have angels. In season one, Lyra was going north in search of Roger and was intrigued by Dust. In season two, Lyra is going to other worlds to look for Dust and is grieving for Roger. So everything is just kind of building and expanding. There are many new characters and excitements”.
Though some alterations had to be done in the original plot, owing to the difficult circumstances created by the coronavirus pandemic, writer Jack Thorne has ensured that fans will still enjoy the show as much as they loved the first season, “It was the hardest thing I’ve had to write for His Dark Materials by quite some distance, and we got four hours in and then it was like, shutters. Which was really upsetting but we were so much luckier than most, so we can’t complain”. The series to set to air on BBC One on November 8, 2020, but will premiere on HBO Max in USA on November 16.
