IBM Corp.  launched two AI-powered services specifically developed to advance research on COVID-19 and possible treatments.

These services were announced in a blog post by IBM research director Dario Gil. The first is a cloud-based molecular search that allows researchers to study COVID-19 therapeutic candidates, or molecules that may form the basis for future treatments.

IBM has released tools in a corpus of 3,000 potential treatment candidates discovered using AI. The company has asked other organizations to provide additional molecules to the database, and the database is open to the public.

Molecular Explorer delivers a graphic -interface so that researchers can use to choose therapeutic candidates based on attributes of interest, find similar molecules, and visualize their physical structure. You can also export data from the tool to other applications for further analysis.
