California has become one of the major coronavirus hotspots in America. Although earlier it somehow managed to contain the spread of the virus, ever since the state has reopened, the virus has been spreading rapidly.
Combined with Florida, Texas, and Arizona, these four states alone are liable for 50% coronavirus cases in the country.
Although, many steps are being taken by the governor Newsom in order to restrain the spread of the virus. This includes the order of complete lockdown of several counties and some other services.
Now, governor Newsom has given 6 more counties the order to close down the indoor businesses and bars. This will include all shorts of indoor businesses including movie theaters, museums, restaurants, etc.
Now the total counties with restrictions stand at 23, out of a total of 58 counties in California.
Governor Newsom said that we need to stress more on how to safely reopen the economy rather than when to reopen the economy. Given the current situation of the most populous state in America, the governor’s remarks seem to be fit with the context. Any hurried reopening may prove fatal for California. Governor said that
“One of the most important things we can do, in addition to technical assistance on that monitoring list, is to do more to focus on enforcement,” known violators” or “high-risk workplaces.”
There has been a continuous upsurge of cases in California. The state has reported more than 7,000 cases on an average basis.
The total cases have run past 2,70,000 and total fatalities have crossed 6,000 marks. The beds in the hospital are running out and the positivity rate is Increasing too. If the situation is not controlled now, one doesn’t know what the future holds for California. For more such latest news stay tuned with us.
