A re-election Louisiana judge was found guilty on Saturday of several counts of sex crimes against three young women as young as 14 who were friends with his teenage daughters.
St. John Parish Judge Jeff Perilloux was convicted of three charges of improper behavior with a minor and a fourth count of sexual assault after prosecutors charged him with exploiting the children.
One of the victims, a 15-year-old girl who described herself as the best friend of Perilloux’s daughter, accused the 53-year-old judge of giving her back massages in May and June 2017. He had also groped her breast for 15 to 20 seconds during one attack.
During a family trip to Florida, She also blamed Perilloux of placing her hands down her bathing suit bottom.
A 14-year-old girl said that Perilloux had pressured her for allowing him to rub sunscreen on her. She also told police that he had attempted to fire down her shorts with a water hose, but admitted that she didn’t know whether he was touching her shorts.
A third teenager, then 17, testified that Perilloux, wearing only underwear, was applying Vick’s VapoRub over her breasts.
“Yeah, he’s a judge. Yeah, he does have a fine job. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, concealed before you in plain sight, “said Assistant Attorney General Matthew Derbes.”The fact is he’s a groomer.”
Defense attorney Jim Williams accused victims of changing their statements and openly questioned why Perilloux’s daughters had not been called by the prosecution to testify.
Waldron’s trial is scheduled for 15 Oct. The crime includes improper behavior with a young person bearing sentences of up to seven years in prison.
