Joey King, Kissing Booth 2 guest, talked about her encounter with her former friend Jacob Elordi to film the Netflix series, confessing it’s not entirely convenient.
Joey and Jacob, who play couple Elle Evans and Noah Flynn within the romantic comedy films, were during a relationship in real-life after meeting on the set of the movie but broke up before filming the sequel.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Joey admitted that it had been a challenge to film romantic scenes together with her ex, but she cared such a lot about doing her role justice that she put it to the back of her mind.
“Nobody says to itself, ‘It was simple,’ because it wasn’t,” she said. “I ‘m sure any person will break both expressions and complexities, and you know what? Let them do that. But I was just happy to be Elle Evans again at the end of the day.”
Adding that there is “so much I want to say”, Joey explained that she was willing to put her feelings aside for the sake of the film.
“What is the first thing, oh, right thanks to this?” “She Evans needs her Noah Flynn, and I do everything in my personal life to make sure the story of my person that I love is real.”
The actress also spoke about how she’s coping with disappointments in her life, saying, “I like to remind myself that if it doesn’t go my way, I will take a copy of it for myself so I won’t weep for too long.”
The actress had previously dubbed Jacob’s “crazy ride” again and claimed it was “a great time, and I discovered a lot about myself, and I grew up as an artist, I grew up as a girl” when appearing on the Mood podcast.
Joey’s Kissing Booth 2 co-star Taylor Zakhar Perez, who plays Marco Peña, recently denied rumours that he and Joey are now dating, saying that they’re simply friends which the relationship rumours “cracked [them] up”.
Kissing Booth fans got a big surprise soon after the sequel dropped on Netflix, as it revealed that not only is a third movie on the way but filmed.
Considering that The Kissing Booth 2 ended on a cliffhanger, that third installment can’t come soon enough.
