Man admits in plea agreement to sexually abuse teenage boy he had met at gas station

A 28-year-old man admitted in a plea agreement on Monday that he had sexually abused a teenage boy in a Gary alley in 2018, according to the records. Thus, Ronnie L. Jackson III has agreed to plead guilty to one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 5 felony.

Moreover, Lake County prosecutors agreed to dismiss three counts of child molesting, which is considered to be a level 1 felony, along with one count of attempted child molesting, which is also considered to be a level 1 felony, in exchange for his plea.

The advisory sentence on a level 5 felony is supposedly for the term of three years. If Judge Diane Boswell agrees to accept Jackson’s plea agreement then she is likely to sentence him to two years in prison and then suspend an additional two years in favor of probation.

Jackson would then be required to enroll in intensive sexual dysfunction counseling by registering as a sex offender, which would be monitored by probation officers. Jackson, of Gary, had admitted that he had performed oral sex on a boy between the ages of 14 and 16 on September 1, 2018, in a plea agreement.

In addition to that, he also told the police that he had sexually abused two boys after meeting them at a gas station that is near the intersection of 21st Avenue and Virginia Street in Gary. His next court hearing is now set for September 21.
