The Power Of The Dog

The Power of the Dog, directed by Jane Campion and inspired on a 1967 Western novel of the same name, stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

This look at rural male entitlement is already generating a lot of Oscar hype.

“Campion recognizes the genre she is dealing in, putting her characters’ churning emotions against the magnificent surroundings; Cumberbatch’s portrayal is as massive as the hills and troughs around him,” writes David Sims for The Atlantic. “This feels like the Best Picture front runner.”

Single All T he Way

After a humiliating separation, Peter (Michael Urie) chose to bring his closest mate Nick (Philemon Chambers) home for the holidays in his ex-place boyfriends in this Netflix original rom-com.

Of course, Peter’s family adores Nick enough that they devise a holiday ruse to persuade the two that they could be better off as more than just buddies. Jennifer Coolidge, Kathy Najimy, and Barry Bostwick appear in the film.

Think Like A Man

Instead of being based on a work of literature, the 2012 ensemble rom-com Think Like a Man is based on Steve Harvey’s relationship counseling book of the same name.

And the cast is stacked with A-listers, including Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Regina Hall, and Michael Ealy. Harvey also appears in a cameo role as himself.
