After the Oscar that took ‘Spider-Man: A new universe’ it was logical that Sony bet on a new installment of the animated adventures of Spider-Man by Miles Morales in the multiverse. The news came soon after, surely also pushed by the very estimated $ 375 million raised at the worldwide box office.
And although we had not heard from this sequel again, that it had its release date set for April 2022 and that it finally seems that it will come a few months later, in October, today there is very good news: production is officially underway.
The animator Nick Kondo has been the one who has shared the good news through his social networks, where, along with a teaser video, he specified that today was the first day of work for ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2’.
It is worth that the video does not offer any real clues about the plot of the sequel that Joaquim Dos Santos will direct, but the news, in general, is fantastic, both for the sector in general, after so many months announcing only cancellations and delays, and for Sony in particular.
This is undoubtedly good news for the Spidey universe in general, as until now it had only been able to report delays in the premieres it had scheduled due to the global pandemic and the closing of theatres.
Because both ‘ Morbius ‘ and ‘ Venom 2 ‘ were going to arrive this 2020, in the summer and autumn respectively, but they will finally do so in mid-2021.
Sony officially returns to the Spider-Man animated space, beginning production on Spider-Man: Spider-Man 2. Animator Nick Kondo tweeted Tuesday to mark the start of his first day with the expected sequel. You can see the post below, the 2018 cartoon hit, which has a short teaser video.
