Star wars are one of the most popular and highest-grossing movie franchises in Hollywood. The franchise has a lot of feature-length movies, animation, games, comic books, merchandise to its name. Star wars is a household name and everyone from child to adults is in its fanbase.
Now that the coronavirus has hit the industry, almost all of the movies have been pushed back indefinitely. Star wars were already on a pause before returning to the feature-length movies and now the wait will only be bigger.
The next Star Wars movie will now be released in theatres in December 2023, pushed back one year from the initial release date of December 2022.
There are some speculations as to how the new trilogy is going to bridge the gap so long. Meanwhile, the franchise is focusing on a lot of printed materials that are set in the world of star wars without Luke and Co. It is set 200 years before the star wars prequel. It is being called a high republic.
The chances are that the same material could make its way to the screens. The reason is a lot of importance is being given to this material. And unless it is going to be explored on the screen, putting so much stress doesn’t seem justified.
Charles Soule, one of the writers of the high republic told starwars.com that “Once just a family of hard-scrabble hyperspace prospectors seeking valuable routes in the outer reaches of the galaxy,
The San Tekka clan has become a dynasty, at the forefront of technologies and techniques that let Chancellor Lina Soh’s great galactic Republic continue to expand safely to new areas.” For more such latest news stay tuned with us.
