Tesla registrations nearly halved in the second quarter in California.

Coronavirus has taken a huge toll on the economy of American. However, some states have been hit harder compared to other states. That mainly includes four states in America that are responsible for over 50% of cases in America. These states include Texas, California, Arizona, and Florida.

New data has been reported from California. Tesla is the biggest electric auto car maker in the World. The country even holds a good market share in Overall car segments, particularly in America. The only US factory of the company is situated in the Bay Area of California. It was one of the worst-hit areas in the state reporting a record number of cases.

This area was ordered to be under complete lockdown that included the Tesla factory as well. But Tesla founder Elon Musk didn’t take it light-hearted. He said that he will resume the factory and move it out of California. As a result, the factory was closed for almost 6 weeks.

Given all these circumstances, experts believed that the car sale will dip drastically during the second quarter. And the same thing happened. The car registrations for Tesla vehicles dropped close to 50% in California as well as the US. The most popular model 3’s registration dipped more than 63%.

However, vehicle registrations don’t reflect sales accurately. Because it may take up to 30 days to register the vehicle after purchase. But still, it gives a hint of the situation. For more such latest news stay tuned with us.
