The state has surpassed several milestones owing to the number of new Covid-19 cases rapidly rising in Texas over the past few weeks. For the first time, total confirmed Covid-19 positive cases in the state crossed 100,000 mark on Thursday.

Earlier the number of positive cases was 99,800, which finally reached its 100,000 mark on Thursday to adding some more and making it just over 103,000 coronavirus positive cases on Friday. According to reports, these cases have increased 66% over the past two weeks as hospital admissions set new records.

There’s also another milestone that was reached on Friday from the data by the Texas Department of State Health and Services that the number of patients undergoing Covid-19 hospital treatment has exceeded 3,000 for the first time, with 3148 hospitalized. Thus, virus-related hospitalizations have gone up by 38% over the past few weeks.

Due to these rising hospital admissions, the number of available hospital beds is dropping. According to the health department’s latest data, just about a quarter of the total hospital beds were available in Texas on Friday. This thus states that of the nearly 60,000 staffed hospital beds, only about 15,000 were available in Texas on Friday.

This is really a hard-time for the state as cases are on a surge, so are the number of unfortunate deaths due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Moreover, it’s certainly unbearable to hear of a situation wherein the available hospital beds are constantly dropping as positive cases are shaping into an upward trend.

These are the difficult times we need to most cater to now. The situation has gone out of control and if hospital beds aren’t available later or sooner, then a lot of deaths could just get reported due to lack of availability of hospital beds which is definitely not something we ever wish to see across the nation.

As mentioned earlier, not only has the positive Covid-19 cases seen an upward trend but the number of deaths has also been increasing recently. As hospitalizations rose, the number of deaths has now taken to 2,140. Thus, the number of fatalities dying from the virus are also on a surge.
