Jim Parson, who starred as Sheldon Cooper in the Big Bang Theory that made him win four Primetime Emmy Awards, informed the Hollywood Reporters that, the time he departed from The Big Bang Theory was the most difficult time for him.

In his statement, he said, “It was the first time in my life of doing this show that it occurred to me that I might want to not do another contract after 12 was up.” He further added “I don’t know if it’s because I’m an Aries or just because maybe I’m in touch with myself. Whatever it is, once I had that thought, I was like, well, that’s your answer.”

David Tennant, who makes the podcast with Everyone Series, had a conversation with Parker, where he revealed that he had an intense time due to his dog’s health condition and his increasing workload.

In his statement, he revealed that, “I was exhausted. I was really upset about, more than anything, one of our dogs was getting really at the end of his life around then.”

His dog was having bad seizures, and so Parson, along with Todd Spiewak, his husband, ade an unwilling decision to put their dog down.

In his statement delivered to Tennant, he said that, “As you can tell, it really upset me. Still does.” He further added, “I was so beaten down. I walked out for curtain call [for Boys in the Band] and I slipped and I broke my foot. It was the scariest moment for the next couple of days because I felt like I was at the edge of a cliff.”

He expressed his grievance in his statement, which says, “I was teetering and I saw something really dark below between the deaths of the dog. The bottom line was that it was a really intense summer. The dog passing away, he was 14, and Todd and I had been together for 15 years at that point, so it just was the end of an era.”

He concluded by saying, “I had this moment of clarity that I think you’re very fortunate to get in a lot of ways of going, ‘Don’t keep speeding by.’ You know? ‘Use this time to take a look around’. And I did.”

The character of Sheldon Cooper played by Parson is considered one of the greatest television characters of all time.

  3. My heart breaks for you….I do know the feeling all too well. Im grateful that I, like you, were able to put the breaks on from being a doing-being to becoming a human-being : seeing , feeling, & getting a grip on what’s important in LIFE. Personally, I have watched your show from day 1. You never missed a beat, perfection comes to mind when I think of your role & grief, for me & many others when it ended. You truly were the best. Perhaps at some point, you’ll be ready to come back…you will know. Blessings and highest thoughts, Jackie
