As the shooting cases are surging at a high rate in Chicago, the federal government has stepped in to offer help.
On Sunday, President Trump said in a tweet that “Chicago and New York City crime numbers are way up. Federal government ready, willing, and able to help, if asked!.” The tweet highlighted the gun violence that took place on 4th July in both of the cities.
In the attack more than 40 people were wounded in New York City and 72 in Chicago, the number of deaths was 13.
Midnight Saturday in New York around 6:30 a.m. around 39 people were struck by the gunfire across the city except the Staten Island, in this violent gunfire three people died, according to the police sources.
The city saw the bloodiest June in 24 years with a total of 205 shootings during the month, last, a similar incident was seen in 1996 when the New York Police Department filed 236 incidents.
Trump also mentioned that the people of New York and Chicago are continually demanding from their respective Governors i.e. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio act against Gun violence that are been frequent in the cities, “Democrats want to Defund and Abolish Police.
This despite poor crime numbers in cities that they run. CRAZY!”
The shooting that happened in Chicago on Saturday and Sunday at 2:15 a.m. 13 people were killed and 59 were injured in shootings. 2 children, a 7 years old girl and a 14-year-old boy were found among the dead.
