This month saw the release of Midnight Sun, which is a book telling the Twilight story from Edward Cullen’s point of view. The book was loved by fans and why not? As it was a highly anticipated one. Its success was evident as within a week, over one million copies have been sold.
Owing to this success, Stephanie Meyer has recently revealed that she is now planning to bring at least two more books for the fans in the Twilight series. Additionally, she also mentioned that the outline of the story is ready with a chapter completed and written of one.
Meyer also stated that the Midnight Sun would be the last book for Edward Cullen. This, therefore, leaves the fans in guessing about who will be the main characters in the upcoming books. Moreover, fans have been speculating for a long time as to which characters need to have their stories told through the books.
However, looking at Meyer’s revelations, it’s pretty obvious that she is likely to introduce new characters into the fold. It is sure that midnight Sun will not be turning into a movie though each movie in the Twilight series has managed to hit the success mark to date.
And there’s certainly no chance of Lionsgate missing to open doors to another multi-million dollar hit. Lionsgate has also made a statement in 2017 wherein confirmation was made that there are plenty of stories to be told in the series. But the only reason they are waiting is for their creators to tell those stories.
There’s no doubt that plenty of characters in the Twilight series deserve a movie and Meyer has rightly opened new doors to numerous other characters and stories to be told by building the franchise around Edward Cullen and Bella Swan’s forbidden love.
There have been speculations about the combined stories of Allice Cullen and her partner, Jasper as they have powerful backstories, worthy of being another hit for Lionsgate.
