The upcoming summer releases a new monster named Candyman. Tony Todd will be playing the character while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will also be playing an active role in the movie. However, there remains a lot of questions before the movie lunches.
There has been a lot of rumors spreading around surrounding the horror movie. According to Bloody disgusting, Helen Lyles of the 1992 movie can return in the upcoming installment. Here’s what Tony Todd said about Helen’s return, “Yes there is. I just talked to her today, as a matter of fact.”
For a quick revisit, a Chicago graduate student named Virginia Madsen’s Helen was infatuated to know the origin of Candyman. In return, Candyman haunts her until her death and she becomes another Candyman herself. Helen took her revenge from her husband who was cheating on her and left her behind to die.
Tony Todd returned to play the role of Candyman himself, however, the role of Helen never progressed in the later franchise. It will be extremely interesting to find out what she was up to all these years and how her character will progress and whether there will be any link to the Candyman as well.
The movie is going to arrive on August 27, 2021. It was directed by Nia DaCosta and co-written by Jordan Peele.
